battery isolator project battery isolator project:

Someone's selling replacement jumper clips with isolator box for their battery bank. But these clips are
probably selling a lot more than the bank itself because of how useful and cheap they are. Unsolder the
clips from the red box and keep for when you need them. (silicon wire too!) Then install short jumpers with
powerpoles on both ends of the box. You now have an 80 amp low-drop battery isolator. (the box has four big
dual schottky in it)

Then after you've made your isolator, you can find another use for the surprisingly good quality jumper
clamps they come with. (like making powerpole battery clamps)

Another alternative is to use an "ideal diode", which uses big mosfets and a special control IC to create
what is effectively a high current diode with an ultra-low voltage drop. But they have a limited voltage
range, so aren't suited to every situation.
