2026.07.22 eBay apmex spam:


I've made a few purchases from Apmex on eBay in the past, but recently they started sending me advertisements
every week or so. I got tired of it and tried to use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter,
but it's a broken URL. I then tried to call their phone number beside the Unsubscribe link and the recording
told me to contact them via eBay and hung up.

So I decided to go straight to eBay support, and discussed the issue with them instead. It seems Apmex wasn't
doing a good job setting up the newsletter (which was being distributed by eBay) and the rep told me they'd
fixed the problem. We'll see. (it sounds like they were including users from an earlier ad campaign, which
was bypassing the Unsubscribe flag anyway, in addition to messing up the Unsubscribe link)
