tape-measure beams tape-measure beams:

Many tape measure beams are based off WB2HOL's optimized design, which exaggerates the element spacing a bit
away from "ideal", which sacrifices a little bit of range bit improves directivity and side/back rejection.

I've seen designs where a small platform is clamped to the back of the mast, and both the receiver and the
offset attenuator were attached to the platform, which makes a very compact and single-user-friendly design,
but we do better with the scouts if one scout handles the antenna while another handles the radio and offset
attenuator. It also helps teach teamwork and good communications.
