powerpoles powerpoles:

In the past I searched for a connector for low voltage (12v) medium current (20A) connectors, requiring protected
positive contact on the source, with good durability and reverse-protection. I used brass RCA connectors for
quite awhile before discovering powerpoles. They offer the additional benefit of being genderless (no need to
stock male AND female ends), have a positive snap when fully engaged, can be color-coded, have both + AND -
contacts protected, and are more reliable with higher current connections.

There are two drawbacks you need to consider. Mainly, it's easier to make a round hole than a square hole,
making panel mounting more work. (there are various panel mounts you can buy) Second, they don't work well
with thin (20-22ga) wire due to lack of strain reliefs. (risks damage to wires if operated frequently)
