emergency power:




I live in an old neighborhood with aging infrastructure, above-ground lines, and suicidal squirrels, so I will
experience a few power-outages (blackouts) every year. Other causes include people that have poor winter-
driving skills and slam into power poles. We also see occasional blackouts due to a lightning hit or fallen
tree branch during a severe thunderstorm.

Most of the time it's inconvenient. But sometimes it can be a bigger problem, even when it's not very long.
I've lost power while in the shower in the morning before first light, and also lost power for several hours
during the winter on several occasions.

So here are some of the projects I've undertaken to try to manage the problems created by blackouts.
