outdoor antennas outdoor antennas:

Most outdoor antennas are omni-directional verticals, but directional high-gain antennas are also available.
Most will have a type-N female connection on them, designed to run coax down and inside to the radio.

Check to see what mounting hardware they come with - usually you'll get a plate (suitable for flush-mounting
on a flat vertical surface) and a few U-bolts. (for mounting to a pole) Some will come with coax or other
adapters. Occasionally they'll include coax totally unsuited for LoRa use, like RG-58. (do not use)
LoRa is 900MHz so if you plan to run coax make sure it's rated for it. (or is a very short run like 1-2ft to
the node up on the pole) I recommend LMR-240 for longer runs to indoor radios.

It's possible to connect directly to a node box using a suitably long pigtail jumper that adapts from type-N
to UFL, I suggest 8-inch, good for mounting a good antenna indoors up in your attic, with the radio right there.
Adapters are also available if you have gender problems, such as N-Male to N-Male couplers.
