Installing UT2k4 painlessly.

I want to share with you what I believe is the simplest and quickest way to install UT2k4 on a pc, using the files that Virtual ripped and segmented. My process using Daemon Tools does not require burning 6 CDs or a DVD.

Here's what I did:
After downloading all the files (and moving them to the pc from my Mac - not to be mistaken with a pc user, thank you very much) I started Daemon Tools (more on this app below).
If you're accustomed to using this tool you know that you simply load the first of the ISO (disk 1) onto Daemon Tools and start the install process. For those not used to Daemon, this tool emulates a second CD or DVD drive, allowing you to 'mount' the ISO (as well as other formats) into its virtual drive, so to speak. This means you don't need to first burn a CD. Very small app, doesn't take much to install and works beautifully every time.

Once you 'mount' the first disk, it will work as any pre-installed commercial CD: it will ask you to choose a location to install the files, ask for the serial no., etc. Once it's done reading that disk, it will ask you to 'insert the next disk'. To my surprise it works great with Virtual's segmented files. Much like replacing the CDs on a drive, you go to Daemon Tools and point to the next ISO. Do this for all the disks and at the end, the game is fully installed, just as it would if you had burnt all those CDs.
After the installer was completed it asks you to reboot. This is a good time to apply the crack, which is a simple process of replacing the ut2k4.exe file with the crack. Then you have a fully working game. The entire process took me about 10 minutes (a fraction of the time if I had to burn all 6 disks).
Virt, for future reference please note that your way of segmenting DVD images works great. Whatever it is you did, try it again on the next game that comes on a DVD.

BTW I haven't tried online play, not am I sure if I want to. If I decide to test that I'll let you know my findings. Enjoy.
