Back in the 2000's, most lightning damage was pretty common, though most of the time the damage was limited
to the modem, which was an easy thing to replace on most computers.

Occasionally it woud jump to the motherboard, and that could do a lot of damage. And I also saw hits to the
ethernet port on occasion as well.
