I ended up paying about a grand to have a welder basically recreate the unibody on that part of the truck.
It was in the garage for about a week, but he did a good job and also applied an undercoating to protect all
that fresh steel he installed. I had to take it to another garage to get it re-aligned since the position of
the wheel was going to be off by a little bit, but it's holding up well.

Just bad design I guess. If I ever get a new vehicle I'm going to get an underbody coat put on it. Iowa uses
so much salt on the roads in the winter that it just dissolves cars.

I was invited to take a look at the work before it was re-coated, and it looked good, but I forgot to get some
pictures, which I really regret now. Owell.
