Unfortunately reflowing the adhesive at the glass wasn't a very effective fix. Since there's a lot of talk
online about reflowing the cable to the board, I'll give that a go too, I've got nothing to lose.
Despite the nasty solder job that I got looking much better, this had absolutely no effect on the display.
I guess I'll be buying a color CAT display for it.

5 paste applied, ready for reflow
