Icom IC-7300 Icom IC-7300:

GigaParts was selling a "used" 7300 for a few hundred dollars off retail, so I grabbed it. It arrived
looking more like a display model than a used radio - the film was still on the display, and the power
wires had never been out of their bag. Icom was doing a $100 rebate on new radios at the time, so I took
a chance and mailed in my registration and request for rebate... and it went through! So saved ANOTHER
$100 off the price. I'd call that quite the deal.

So far I love this radio. The strong nearby signal (overload) rejection isn't great, "it doesn't have a
tight front door") but other than that there's NOTHING to complain about, nothing I would change. I love the
touch screen, the menus branch fast and aren't too deep, and setting up for digital is just a USB cable and
free software. (no need to buy a converter box) My favorite feature is the waterfall bandscope.

So many people in the club have them now that we have to label the radios when we take them to any event, to
make sure everyone gets their own 7300 back at the end of the day.
