There are several shortcomings in the original DF-1 design that I try to correct on units when I get them in.
1. install BNC jacks for the antennas, to make disassembly for transport easier and also to allow use with
other antennas, such as vehicle or home mounted
2. replace one or both 1.8mm audio jacks with 2.5mm
3. add RCA to BNC adapter to radio antenna jack
4. install internal or attached speaker
5. cover left/right LEDs with sun glare shield
6. install mini audio amp with volume control to allow separate volume and sensitivity
7. redesign hand-held antenna to improve ruggedness and attachment of control box
