2m+10m luggage rack platform:


This was my first doppler design from over a decade ago. It consisted of a dual-band antenna platform for
use on both 2 and 10 meters, that was strapped onto the luggage rack of my Explorer for use.

The combiner board and antenna terminals were made from copper clad board "etched" with a Dremel. Nothing
fancy but it worked! Every source I found told me doppers were unusable below 2m but I was able to get
very good results with only minor adjustments. The platform originally used the frequency-specific coax
harnesses, but it and the controller were given the frequency-independent modification.

The design was not waterproof however, and required considerable time to set up and take down, making it
less than ideal for use on short notice.
