VX-2R:
keypad lock: press and release Fn. Hold Band 2 sec.

UV-3R:
keypad lock: hold Menu 2 sec (padlock icon on button)
will not power on when external power is provided over 3.2v or so

UV-5R:
- byonics piccon cable radio jack isn't deep enough and must be held
into the jack for reliable operation
- when battery is out and running on dc power cable, the speaker
does not work if the voltage is >= 4.8v

PICCON notes:
- had to reset a piccon that refused to adjust times

DTMF Remote Control:

1 = start transmission immediately. begin delayed transmissions
2 = terminates play or delay timer and goes directly to next delay or play
3 = if playing, stop transmission immediately. stop delayed transmissions
4 = DTMF lock
#nnnn = unlock using programmed code

modes 2 and 3 only work for crossband dual vfo (ability to rx on control
channel while transmitting on fox channel)

while locked, will not react to control or programming codes

feedback for Byon:
- when turned off with (DTMF-3), it should either always identify, or identify if it has not yet
