Foxes were moved to small Harbor Freight Apache cases, for waterproofing and improved durability.
The pick-and-pluck foam worked well to hold and protect internal components. A digital voltmeter was
added, and the power switch was moved to the inside. The low batter indicator LED was move to under one
of the case's latches, so it coud be checked when closed, while remaining stealthy.
Batteries were more accessible, although they still have to be removed from the foam, which may not be
a good long-term solution if the foam takes too much abuse.
Despite the upgrade, they still suffered from short runtime (approximately 4 hours) and were known to
malfunction when SWR was high, due to lack of metal shielding to protect the mic wires and controller
from RF coming from the antenna mounted on the box nearby.
