back to 2023.11.11 George Wyth Park Foxhunt

Hides Hides:

Today we planned to set out four foxes and hunt for them from noon to about 4pm. This would give the players
about an hour to find each fox. But given that the foxes were hidden with increasing difficulty, it wasn't
likely to be an hour each, and we really didn't have a firm idea of how long each hunt would take. It would
also depend on how many players showed up, and what their skill levels were. I was able to change the fox
timing remotely though in the event a fox was proving too difficult to locate. (in the end, I adjusted the
"wait time" of the latter foxes to be a bit shorter because players were quickly getting into the area of the
foxes but then were having to stand around and wait for the next transmission, which is BOOOORING!)

Some of the experienced players were already hunting Fox-6 by 2:30 so I decided to reposition Fox-3 and Fox-4
(as soon as everyone was done looking for them) to new locations, to make sure everyone could keep playing
until 4pm. So we ended up playing six rounds instead of four. I suspect the trailing players may have gotten
a hint or two from the others that had already found the last two foxes, which is fine. Everyone got to have
a good time all the way up to the end of the event.
