Every group get started by learning how to get bearings on two practice beacons that have been set up close to
the starting point. This gets new players familiar with the equipment, as well as reminding more experienced
scouts of how the process works. It's a little counter-intuitive at first trying to learn NOT to just go
straight toward your first bearing, but they usually catch on fast.
