Prospect construction:


We were playing in Waterloo, and Prospect Boulevard was getting torn up and re-paved. But in a swanky part
of town like that you can't just rip out the entire street and take your time putting it back in. So they had
been tearing it up a bit at a time, alternating between the East and West bound sides. And for blocks North
and South of this road, the roads were very windy and chaotic - nothing like your typical grid layout. It was
easy to get disoriented and have NO idea what direction you were facing after driving around there for even a
little while.

So I noticed both sides were torn up on the South end at Ridgeway, so I went around and tried to find a way
into that construction. Cat and Mouse has a long history with construction - it always makes for good spots
to hide, to block cats from getting to you, and to cause general confusion. So about 8 blocks North of there
I had found a way to get to Prospect, and drove maybe a half a block until I had to stop because there wasn't
any ROAD there anymore. But the cut-through to the other side was still open. I took that, and realized I
could drive farther South the wrong way on the other side, and so I did until I came to another road block.
But then there was another cut-through. So I continued to zig-zag my way South, until I got to within
eyesight of Ridgeway. But the street lights had been turned off for the construction, and there were cars
EVERYWHERE because so many people had lost access to their driveways. So I was invisible and in a sea of
other vehicles. This will do. This will do nicely. Game on!

I lost track of how many times I saw players drive slowly through that intersection on Ridgeway, trying to
figure out how to get past that road construction. Cats kept getting lost and turned around on both the East
and West sides of Prospect, and in many cases they weren't able to even get ON Prospect because there was no
road there when they got to it. (I had accidentally found the ONLY road that intersected with a paved part of
Prospect) There were several points where cats actually spotted me, but "you gotta get your car here".
I don't recall just how long I was hidden there but it seemed like ages. After many good hides, other players
want the game to keep going to see if they can also figure out how to get where I'm at, but as I recall, none
of them wanted anything more to do with road construction and insisted we just start the next round.
