2011.11.04 bronco and trip:


This was an especially evil hide, with the hidden transmitter being out on an island in the middle of a park,
positioned up in a tree overhanging a desolate sand bar.

It took us awhile to find a way to get onto the island without getting too wet, then a fair amount of hiking
on very rough terrain on the island, and finally we all stood around on the sand bar very confused because
we knew it wa there but there was just no place to hide the transmitter.

From what I recall, Billy climbed up the tree and out over the sand bar, lifted up the battery, transmitter,
and antenna, wedged it all into the crotch of the tree up there, and draped my camo netting on top of it.
There was a camo rope running down to the side of the tree, which I think was intended to lift up and drop
down the transmitter and battery, but I just let them figure out how to get it down once we found it.

In that last picture, the red square is the closest I could get my truck to use the doppler, and the circle
on the right is an old fire observation tower. The middle circle is the spit of land the sand bar was on.
