longwire
longwire:
Here are instructions for constructing an end-fed longwire antenna, good for most or all HF bands.
I personally bought a spool of 500ft of #12 stranded green ground wire and cut it into four pieces, each was
125ft long. I sold / gave away three and used the other for myself.
I checked on it this season - the jacket isn't doing very well being exposed to the elements, but that was
to be expected. The feed end was crimped, soldered, and slathered in silicon, and the far end was also
weatherproofed a bit.
