Cushcraft R5
Cushcraft R5:
This is a mystery multi-band vertical antenna I got at a hamfest, that I'm trying to identify. It's currently
slightly disassembled, in one main section about 13.5 feet long, with a separated base about 4ft long, and
four radials also about 4 feet long.
The base has a weathered fiberglass insulating section on it, and I believe the left end is just a coax shroud
and mounting point.
There are four tuned elements jutting out the sides, that are probably for the bands. In addition, there are
four covered coils, probably the band traps.
I can't be certain where the connections that are hose-clamped together is correct, so simply reassembling it
and scanning with a VNA may not get me good results. I'd like to know what the model is so I can obtain the
manual and get it assembled at the correct lengths.
UPDATE: I think I've identified it as a Cushcraft R5, see link below.
