6 150w LIFE 8 amp load test
6 150w LIFE 8 amp load test:
I disconnected and set aside the CPY controller and FLA battery, and connected up my 100AH LIFE battery and
generic 150w LIFE charge controller. It says it's MPPT, but the chip is actually "MPPR", it's max power point
regulating, and has its panel Vmpp hard-configured with resistors on the board, so the controller regulates
power so that the panels stay at that configured voltage. This works fine if it's a 36 cell (18 volt) panel, which
these are, so it should work reasonably well.
I started the load box back up at 8 amps, and the controller was soon delivering over 10 amps to the battery.
(it had also been stored at about 75% of full charge) Draw was very consistent, with 143 watts off the panels
and 137 watts into the battery.
