Hakol Portable LED Work Solar Light Hakol Portable LED Work Solar Light:

I picked this up at Woot in late 2025. It's the golden triple - a work light, with built-in rechargeable
battery, and a solar panel slapped on the back.

As you might have guessed, although the solar panel covers most of the back, the actual cell area is so small
as to be almost useless. But nothing else was using that space, so why not I suppose? I measured the cells
and found the ten of them cover 135 square CM. My 100w (rated, 76w in Iowa) panels (22% eff) have 36 cells
at 155 cm2, so this panel should be rated 2.4w, with ideal power here of 1.8w. It cost me $22 (freeship)
(26mm x 52mm x 10 cells = 13,520mm2 = 135cm2)

The listing says "100W 16500mAh 10000 LM, Battery". So a 2.4 watt panel is described as 100w. That might
just be the biggest solar oversell I've ever seen. Makes me wonder how honest the 16.5 Ah battery is?
It is pretty bright, but I don't have a point of reference for 10,000 lumens.

It's got a push button to toggle the light mode, a USB-C port for charging, and a USB-A accessory power port.
The light modes are: cool white, warm white, both, both (1/2 intensity), and a side-to-side red/blue flasher.
In that mode it looks a lot like a police car from a distance, I wonder if that's legal?

The front has glass over the light, the back has clear plastic over the solar. So don't drop it, and don't
expose it to rain if the front has gotten hot. The corners look like bumpers, but they're just the same hard
plastic as the case, so don't expect any added drop-protection.
