back to my solar on vehicles

solar ejections solar ejections:

I've had more "solar ejections" than I care to admit...

(date unknown) I was just starting to drive my Escape out of the parking lot at work when a powerful wind gust
hit and took the panel off my roof, sending it sliding across the parking lot. I was able to recover it, but
had to re-attach the entrance box and put it back on the roof a little later.

2021.09.22 I was driving my Explorer home when I hit road construction. A four-lane divided highway turned
into a two-lane undivided, and I passed three 18-wheelers in rapid succesion at 55mph. The last one ripped
the panel off my truck and sent it cartwheeling into the ditch. I went back later and was able to find it.
The entrance box had been torn off the panel but I was able to repair it.

2022.10.02 I was driving my Explorer home from a JOTA event when my solar ripped off the roof for no obvious
reason. I had to review my rear dashcam footage to see what happened to it. The truck right behind me ran
it over right as it hit the pavement, and gave it a good "dribble" under his frame. The panel was absolutely
mauled and unrepairable.
