battery banks battery banks:

Battery banks with built-in solar compliment each other nicely as long as the solder is big enough. When camping
for example, it allows you to set out the bank and let the solar charge the bank up, and then at night you can
use the bank to charge your phone/tablet at night. This is basically "time-shifting" your solar power, allowing
you to charge your phone with solar, without having to leave it out charging when you'd rather be using it.

But most of the banks that just have the one panel on the side just don't have enough solar capacity to be very
useful. There are a few that have fold-out solar with 3-5 panels, and that's when you're getting into something
that's actually going to provide useful charge power for the bank.

A lot of the advertisements for the fold-out banks shows someone hiking with the panels draped over their backpack.
While this looks like it might be a good idea, it's probably impractical in most situations. But do get one with
a built-in flashlight, for some additional utility. Don't use wireless charging for your phone though - wireless
charging is VERY inefficient and wastes a lot of power.
