Wuzeck (2024.01) 4LB (4x9):
These panels showed up on eBay from a private individual that may have had a surplus to sell. They looked like
the Dokio flexible panels I already had, but at a discount, so I got a set of 8. I didn't look closely at the
panel specs however, and was surprised to see they were a slightly different design, which featured a thick
plastic coating on the top. This doubled the panel weight from 2 to 4 pounds each, and made them less flexible,
which wasn't ideal for transport (8 panels puts a lot of strain on a panel tote) and also they're pretty heavy
on the solar frames. They also came with a cheap little PWM controller, like they were intended to be sold and
used individually.
It looks like Wuzeck and Dokio have the same source for panels, and both their listings often include pictures
from different runs with different layouts if you look carefully, so it's something of a toss-up what you might
receive. This heavier variety probably has a thin acrylic coating on it, hopefully it's UV-safe and doesn't
cloud up from long-term exposure to UV light.
Given their added weight, I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with them. The added durability is a nice
feature though, as I have experienced some minor damage on the 2 pound panels during transport. I've also ordered
some additional totes so I can transport these heavier panels 4-per-tote.
There are some Wuzeck panels listed on Amazon, but they're marked up pretty high.
