CPY-2420 MPPT controller:




CPY-2420 is a good, inexpensive MPPT controller, which unfortunately lacks a display or buttons. There is a
PWM variation on this controller, the CMG, which has a display, but it's just PWM and wastes some of the solar
potential of your panel.

It's also got a single USB port for charging that works well, and although it has no digital display, it does
have indicator LEDs. These come at a cost though, as standby current is 68mA.

This is a cheap but well-spec'd MPPT controller, and is great to use or just keep on-hand for its flexibility.
Note the two large inductors on the board, those are used for buck and boost, they even have an icon of the
inductors printed on the front as a sort of a "brag" for the feature.
