five function safety light:




I picked up this no-name red safety light at a local store. It appears to be designed to attach to the back
of a trailer or anything you want to alert others to at night. It's got a (frail) pastic hook in back that
can unfold to hang it, as well as a fairly strong magnet on the back for attaching to a flat metal surface.

The pushbutton on the front cycles between five different flashing and spinning light patterns with the bright
red LED lights around the edge, as well as flashing a few forward-facing LEDs on the front. Besides the hook
on the back, it looks pretty ruggedly constructed, and reasonably water-resistant. I've been keeping it in
with my solar equipment in case panels or other equipment needs to be kept visible overnight. It's got an
interesting feature that it does a good job lighting up the surface it's placed on, so you don't just see a
flashing light, you can see what it's attached to.

There's no battery hatch or port to connect to recharge it. Since the mode button on the front is a momentary
type switch, it's always drawing a little power from the internal batteries so I was expecting I'd have to take
it apart at some point to replace the batteries, even if I wasn't using it. It lasted a few years before it failed
to turn on. It was pretty easy to take apart, and I found it uses three AAA batteries. This isn't the sort of light
you leave in the glove box in case you need it, because the batteries WILL be dead when you do finally get
it out to use it.
