Next I used that old hole puncher to make two initial holes in the ends where the PP35's will go, and then
took the box downstairs to the drill press to make a line of holes for the meters themselves.

Then I used a large diagonal pliers to cut between the holes in the meter to pop out the middle blanks.

Finally, I got to work with x-acto knives (with fresh blades) to get the holes carved out and squared up.
