100 AH in a 25 pound package is hard to beat First thing I should point out is LIFEPO4 are not drop-in replacements for sealed lead acid batteries. They operate at a slightly higher voltage, which 12v accessories don't mind. You can't fully charge or maintain them with an SLA charger - you'll need to get a 5 amp or better LIFEPO4 charger. And you cannot connect them in parallel with an existing lead-acid battery or charge these batteries when they are cold. They can be USED or STORED, but not CHARGED cold, or you will damage the battery. I don't know if this battery has built-in temp-protection, although it does have overcharge, deep discharge, and over-current protection. Second is their cost. LIFEPO4 cost around 3x as much as flooded lead-acid, but for that you get 1/3 the weight, 10x the charge cycles (lifetime), and a small increase in AH capacity. (for the same volume of battery) This makes them a cost-feature tradeoff. But if you need portability (and thus, low weight) these are an excellent option to consider. A comparable flooded lead-acid deep-cycle marine battery will be slightly wider, and only 80AH, but will weigh 70 pounds, compared to this battery's 25 pounds. I can't describe the uneasy feeling I get every time I pick this battery up, I just keep thinking "there's just no way this thing is this LIGHT!". Its light weight and high capacity make it an ideal power source for camping and emergency use. Normally I'd place my battery in a marine carrying case with dual handles to make it easier to lug around, but this battery is so light I can just carry it in one hand using its built-in (removable) carrying strap. I can pick it up with ONE FINGER if needed, it's almost spooky how light it is. Since I don't need a carrying case, I decided to just hot-glue a 120A fuse, powerpole distribution block, and USB charging block right onto the top, so it's just a "grab and go" battery. It's perfect for camping trips, emergency response or drill, or even hiking. It could easily go in the bottom of my pack, weighs less than my tent, and with enough capacity to last for days without needing to bring solar to keep it charged. 100AH might even be considered "overkill" for that, but I like overkill - I like being confident I won't run out of power when I need it, and this battery delivers.
