2 medium current wire
2 medium current wire:
AudioPipe makes some high-strand-count CCA (copper-clad aluminum) power wire for use with small audio
amplifiers, that's really easy to work with when powering medium current draw accessories.
It's extremely flexible, has a high visibility re/black twin lead, that's easily separated into black and
red power wires where needed. Yes, it's CCA, so it won't handle quite as much current as 10ga copper, but
pure copper is like 3x the price, for not even 2x the current. It fits snugly into 35A powerpoles. The
jacket isn't silicon, I think it's just PVC, but it's still very flexible, just not flameproof.
I really do like this stuff - I've probably gone through 8 rolls, for anything from jumpers to drop cords.
It works especially well for transmission line between my solar panels and controller, where I try to keep
voltage high and current low. (60-90 volts, at usually no more than 10 amps)
UPDATE: it's gotten really hard to pick through listings to find actual 100 feet anymore. The bastards
keep listing it as "100 feet" and the fine print says "50 red + 50 black" so make you read the fine print and
make sure you're getting what you think you're getting. I can't find AudioPipe brand reels anymore either.
