back to bench

I recently assembled this power supply by purchasing the components separately. You can mix and match the
various control fronts and different wattage power supplies in the standard case, or you can just buy it as
a fully assembled unit.

This power supply has worked extremely well for me in the last two years, with a pretty generous 60 volt high
end, and 18 amps is good enough for most of my needs, during testing anyway. I still find myself falling back
on one of my larger 12v supplies when high current is required.

One thing I really like about this unit is the large, colorful display, that's easy to read at a bit of a
distance, as it sets back out of the way on my bench. I don't care for banana plugs, so the first thing I did
was to make a little 3ft heavy gauge wire jumper from banana plugs to powerpole.

Cons: You have to turn on the power supply (on the back) and then the supply on the front, if you don't want
it running anytime your bench is on. And the power supply will turn on occasionally (even when not in use)
and I found that annoying, so I leave it off when not in use, but I have to get up and lean forward to reach
the back switch. While annoying, these are minor issues I can forgive for all it gives me in return.
