hand-held loupe (30x):


This cheap little loupe works surprisingly well. It's got 30-power magnification, with a clear and bright image.
The all glass-and-steel construction is durable, though it's a bit heavy. It doesn't have a very large field
of view though so it's not really useful for soldering. It's excellent for inspection though, and I use it
often to check my precision soldering over after I've worked on something. Also great for reading the ID from
SMD parts, or getting the part number off a chip.

I actually have two of these, one for the soldering station and one for my desk. I didn't get the upgraded
version with the light since I often need to adjust the angle of the light hitting a component to be able to
get the necessary contrast to read part numbers or to inspect for soldering defects and board cracks.
