Circuit Specialists TDGC-2KVA:
I picked this up in 2025 for $10 at a pre-Dayton junk-in-the-trunk in Cedar Rapids.  It'll make an excellent
replacement for my ancient old variac.  It's a mode TDGC-2KVA by Circuit Specialists, and they painted it in
fire-engine red. It was in the original box and packing material, and still has the plastic film on it.  Maybe
someone bought it as a spare, since I don't think this one's spent more than an hour outside its box?
I can't think of a better way to slowly power up equipment than turning a giant knob on a big beaste like this.
Circuit Specialists discontinued this one and replaced it with a newer model that has a digital voltmeter, but
then they discontinued that one too!  The one I have is weirdly in the middle, with the analog meter but with
two outlets on the front.
