Radio Shack 43-145 pocket tone dialer
Radio Shack 43-145 pocket tone dialer:
I picked this up when the local Radio Shack had their "garage sale" parking lot event for cheap. It's a box
designed to either remotely control your answering machine or dial a rotary phone connected to a DTMF line,
using DTMF dual tones. It worked really well for generating a dual tone for SSB transmitter testing. Holding
down keys in the same row or column would cause it to produce just a single tone also.
I hear these were popular with phone phreakers, that modified these to make free long distance calls from\
pay-phones.
