1948 Mexican 5 Pesos silver:




Purchased on 3/2/2025 for $66

I'm surprised that Mexico made a bullion way back in 1948. This one is 39.86mm diam x 3.04mm rim,
30.11 grams. No hint of tarnish, very high luster, though has some very minor rubs, possibly mint marks.
This is a very high-relief coin, especially on the reverse, the lower left leaf in particular.

The high luster on this 0.900 alloy coin makes me question if it got a silver plating before I received it.
It doesn't have a mirror finish like a proof, but it honestly looks like crisp bullion... but at 80 years old?
