I received the two 1 yen coins from you today. The meiji 19 (1886) is fine, but the meiji 14 (1881) is a fake. (a pretty BAD fake actually) Dry weight is 20.89g (should be about 26.9), size is 37.73x2.83mm (should be about 38.73x2.65), and specific gravity (8.81, should be 10.33) ie density is WAY off. Considering its color and density, it's probably made of brass. The photo certainly had a brassy look to it but I thought that was just a lighting problem on your end, old toned silver can photograph like that if underlit. But it really does look like brass in person.
