I keep my "go bag" in my truck in case I need to do some impromptu climbing, but it's also my heavy lift
bag, used for raising and lowering tower sections and large antennas. It originally was a "self-rescue" kit,
the kind OSAH might require you to have at a work site. I cut off and threw away the "auto-ascender" it came
with, but kept the rope (DBI/SALA, although I assume it's manufactured by Sterling or some other name brand)
and all the accessories it came with.
I really only bought the bag for the rope, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it came with some extra
goodies inside. These included a 6ft heavy strap, a fall-arrest strap, a high visibility vest, and to my
surprise, a nice adjustable harness with good carabiner. The harness didn't have positioning straps so I
added two short climbing straps.
I added a steel ladder hook to the end of the rope, and "kit pulley kit" also lives in the Go Bag, since it's
needed to use the thick rope. These are #50 stainless pulleys, with built-in swivels, a working load limit
(WLL) of 880 LBS. For load tagging, I added three small pouches with 100ft paracord-550 tag lines so the ground
crew can control lifts and drops.
For me I added a "Quick" bag with harness, tether and lader hook, and some basic climbing hardware. I also added
a "Quick Rope" bag with some short accessory cord and slings. Basically everything needed for a safe climb.
I also tossed in a cheap rope grab, my tram line pulley, and a "mechanical advantage" pulley kit, that gives
me 5x advantage to move just about anything by hand, great for emergencies.
