I keep this pack in front of me and my climbing harness doesn't hinder access.

The small front pouch contains just a small tape measure, emergency whistle, and small pouch of extra tool
tethers.

The main area contains a small selection of hardware (carabiners etc) and has a link at the bottom that can
be used to tether tools to. I also have a large plastic s-biner that I can attach to the tower and use to
tether multiple tools to, so I just have to move one tether point when moving up or down. My water bottle
will get attached to that also.

This is also where I keep my hat (to protect against sunburn) and my climbing gloves. The gloves were carefully
selected to be flexible enough to keep on for most work, while providing good grip on the tower while climbing.
I tried a few different kinds of leather gloves, but they provided less grip and were much stiffer to wear.
These also keep my hands a little warmer on cold and windy days.
