back to climbing bag

main compartment main compartment:

The main storage area of the range bag contains my fall-arrest climbing harness, small lift bag, climbing
fanny pack, and water bottle, as well as a spare fall-arrest tether.

My harness is a Miller, with positioning straps on both sides. I clip those to my positioning strap's large
steel carabiner, and leave the ladder hook "parked" on the chest strap until I clip onto the tower.

I use the "Eddy" model of Camelbak bottle to keep hydrated while up on a tower. It's surprising how quickly
you can dehydrate when constantly exposed to sun and wind. The Eddy has a built-in straw, a "bite to drink"
leak-proof mouthpiece, and a built-in tethering loop on top.

The red bag is my primary light-duty lift bag. It's got 50m of rope and is rigged with pulleys for up on the
tower as well as at the base.

Before climbing, I usually lighten up the fanny pack a bit, by removing things I don't expect to need.
I try to keep everything tethered while on the tower, but there are usually a few items inside the
fanny pack that aren't tethered, such as loose hardware or electrical tape.
