climbing safety climbing safety:

Safety is important on any climb. Climber safety, ground crew safety, public safety, even property safety.

I've put together a fairly brief safety guide that covers the climber and ground crew, but it's a good idea
to have one of the ground crew somewhat or completely dedicated to safety. Older hams that aren't able to get
up on the tower or even really help with the ground work are still very helpful at a climb. They can just sit
in a lawn chair and keep an eye on things, reminding people when they're doing something unsafe, and trying
to think ahead to consider potential risks that may arise, like a tower section being lifted that needs a
tag line to prevent it from rotating out of position while lifted.
