140w USB-A, USB-C 120vac wall charger
140w USB-A, USB-C 120vac wall charger:
I got this recently to have as a high power smart charger as well as a backup for charging my laptop. It's
surprisingly heavy, feels like it's solid metal. Lots of features, including lots of ports and support for
all the smart and fast charge protocols. And it's got a high res screen on the pack that has a variety of
screens to show port status, charging current, and even temperature. Comes with USB-C power cord.
All that comes at a cost, literally. It's pretty expensive, but at least Anker is a very reputable brand.
When you plug it in, the screen comes up with an animated smiley face, that goes to a sleepy face if you don't
have anything plugged in. Also, on the port status display, it shows when you plug in a (USB-C) cable, even
if there's no peripheral connected on the other end of the cable. The round icon below the display is a touch-
sensitive button you tap to toggle between the three screens. The fold-out outlet connectors are the best I've
ever seen - they have good retention and spring force, but when they come out they snap into place and hold out
extended rigidly. Some packs will start to fold and slip out of a wall outlet, but this one should hold solid.
The only thing it's missing is a fourth screen to show a graph of power draw over time, or to show accumulated
power drawn in watt-hours. Also, it sleeps the display automatically after 60 seconds, and I'd like to have a
way to either disable that or select a different timeout duration.
