back to USB power banks
RavPower RP-PB067
RavPower RP-PB067:
I picked this up to replace my first real power bank, which I toasted by storing it for too long at full charge.
This one features two USB-A and one USB-C output port. It can only be charged over the USB-C port though,
and it's pretty slow, which is really the only thing I was disappointed about. It's got a momentary button for
displaying current charge, but includes no other features such as built-in flashlight. I was looking for something
to keep my macbook pro charged when away from power, so USB-C and a large capacity were my priorities
when I picked this one back in 2019 for $42. This specific model is no longer in production. But this has lasted
six years, so I'd say I trust the RavPower brand. If that's not available, my second choice would be Anker.
It's rated 99 watt-hours, but both times I've tested it I got an estimated 69 Wh out of it, which isn't bad.
I keep it stored at 3 out of 4 lights, and at least once a year I drain it down quite a bit, fully recharge it,
and then discharge it back down to 3 lights. (I'm going to try not to brick this one too) It's pretty big for a
power bank, but 69 Wh is pretty good, especially when I'm trying to keep it stored at 75% charge.
(which would be around 50 Wh)
It takes 160 minutes at 1.5 amps to discharge this bank from 100% to 75% for storage after a full charge.
26,800 mAh 99 Wh
