Playstation 3 Playstation 3:

When renovating the living room, I bought a BluRay player and it was garbage, so I returned it and bought a
PS3 instead. At the time, Sony was the big player in the BluRay standard and it had an ethernet port (unlike
the player I just returned) so I could rely on it to keep itself updated as BluRay players need to. I also
used it to play DVDs, but never bought any PS3 games. The PS3 actually cost less at the time than any of the
high end BluRay players. I'm guessing Sony subsidized the cost of the player, expecting to make most of their
money off the games, which I was happy to take advantage of.
