2 arrival and setup:
The Fisher Shelter is split into two separate parts by a wide fireplace, with the left side about twice the
size of the right side. I didn't notice this and started setting up on the right, but soon we realized the
other side was much better, and shifted over to the left. Four tables is much better than two, plus one of
the right tables was splattered from a bird nest directly above it.
The first thing I set up upon arrival was my little talk-in radio. I've got all three local repeater plus the
two simplex frequencies entered into it so it's set up. The antenna is a generic short fiberglass pole, placed
atop a four-section aluminum window washing pole. The pole is about 23 feet long when fully-extended, and
about 6 feet long when fully collapsed.
The antenna is clamped to a cut off accessory, so it's got a simple push-button release from the pole. That,
combined with the easy to operate buckles for the sections makes it quick and easy to set up and take down.
I only extended it to a bit over half its max length since that gave it all the range it needed.
