2021 Field Day Evaluation:
RESULTS:
We had a total of 22 attendees on the sign-in sheet this year, which is a pretty
good size crowd.
Tom (AE0TB) contributed over 1,000 points from home, although our home total was
over 2,300 points from all operators.
Operators at the park accumulated almost 1,500 points, along with 300 points
from various bonuses.
The majority of our contacts were on 15 and 20 meters.
There was significant interest in the club's use of solar power.
For the first time in our Field Day history, we got more contacts from digital
than CW. (thanks mainly to Corey/NC0N)
Al (KB0VGG) also called the 75m net from the park, with a little help from
Curt's (NK0T) amplifier and Nathan's (N0ZYC) generator.
Salvation Army was able to bring their food truck for good meals.
CF Mayor showed up at our event this year and expressed great interest in our
club and community involvement.
PROBLEMS:
Coax and power cords were presenting some trip hazards, we need to cover and
mark cables to prevent people and equipment damage.
Parking was a little crowded, and a little far away with no concrete path to it.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
PLANNING:
We can get more points by having a CPR-trained safety officer present throughout
the event. Maybe get an AED?
We could do more to make this a ham radio recruitment activity.
Considering the success of digital, we may want to consider a second digital
station for next year?
MANPOWER:
