I had recently started playing with solar power and this was my first attempt at using it for alternate power
during Field Day. I had a few small panels for USB charing phones, as well as a pair of flexible panels that
were hooked into my battery using a few cheap solar controllers. The USB charging got more use than the
big panels, but it was a good test drive. At this point though I decided I wanted to learn more about solar
power and see if it was possible to provide a useful amount of power in a portable design.

It didn't rain today, but the wind was a REAL headache. Several times I had to run out and flip a panel back
over that the wind caught and gave a toss.
