An "Elmer" is someone that's got helpful knowledge and experience on a topic, and is willing to teach you.


Topics I'm considered "one of the local experts" on:

- tower climbing (includes tower and antenna setup / take-down)
- solar power (and emergency / battery power in general)
- arduino (programming and accessories)
- fox-hunting (and other Radio Direction Finding)
- quadcopter (aka "Drone" or "Quad")

Other topics I'm experienced with:

- anderson powerpoles (12v dc quick connectors, the ARES standard for radio power)
- UPS and inverter selection and use
- EMI filter construction and use
- Bicycle Mobile
- mobile radio and antenna installation
- soldering (regular and butane, as well as basic hot-air SMD)
- antenna SWR adjustment (base and mobile)
- 9:1 un-un construction
- programming repeaters into HTs directly through the keypad
- simple electronics repair (such as power supplies, broken connectors, etc)
