====================== IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ====================== July's meeting will be held at 7:30 pm Saturday July 11, at the Salvation Army building at 89 Franklin St in Waterloo. We will be practicing social distancing, please bring your mask. Northeast Iowa Radio Amateur Association (NIRAA/W0MG) Meeting Minutes, June 2020 The June gathering of the Northeast Iowa Radio Amateur's Association (NIRAA) via Zoom was called to order at 7:30 PM, June 13 2020 by Harold Lucas (N4HRL). There were 16 operators in attendance this evening, listed below. MINUTES ------- Adjustments to last month's minutes: Meeting date was entered as "April", correct to "May" Minutes approved with 1 adjustment (N0ZYC/N0TKC) TREASURER'S REPORT ------------------ Dave (KD0DK) reports we have $1,090.18 in savings/repeater fund and $2,272.20 in share-draft, which includes a deposit for $40. Report approved (N8TWO/N0ZYC) Please contact Dave if you would like to get your dues paid for the year. Our club membership form is also available on our club website at http://www.w0mg.net/ REPEATERS --------- Curt (NK0T): 220 is alive and well, meeds a new PLL circuit Bill (W0GEN): Waterloo West DMR is doing well Al (KB0VGG): 444.55 is up and running, though would like to increase the height COMMITTEES ---------- Repeater Swap Committee (Jan/KE0RKO, John/WB0MAR, Curt/NK0T) Bill (W0GEN): the new 94 is ready to deploy, we need to contact CFU utilities for access, though with Covid now is not the best time. Presentation Committee (Curt/NK0T, John/WB0MAR): (no report) OLD BUSINESS ------------ Club meeting location: Harold (N4HRL): going to try to arrange for July's meeting at the Salvation Army Curt (NK0T): Windcove lockdown is likely to remain until a vaccine is available Field Day: Harold (N4HRL): Mark/Al have obtained permission to use George Wyth (Fisher shelter), Al will be taking care of the reservation. The Fisher shelter has 120VAC and a bathroom available. Mark and Stan may be bringing mosquito-management. Al (KB0VGG): The park is asking us to limit headcount to 15 people at a time. (we may need to use a sign-up sheet to coordinate operators so we don't exceed the limit) Hams can also operate from home and log contact credit to W0MG per ARRL special rules for this year. We could operate until 11 but not overnight, so this will probably just be a one day event for us. We have sufficient antennas, should bring solar trailer and filters. The initial plan is to operate two stations plus the GOTA station. Stan/Curt will be supplying bandpass filters. We don't anticipate power problems, we usually have plenty of batteries. Getting the solar trailer could be tricky though, so bring what you can for off-grid power. Al will be bringing supplies to keep gear clean. Mark has the laptops ready go go, the club has a permanent club license for the (windows) logging software and can supply home users with the activation key if they would like to use it. Users expecting to operate from home include Harold (N4HRL), Curt (NK0T), Stan (W0SJ), John (WB0MAR). Carol's radio is ready for field day. Mark will be looking for the W0MG banner to set up. (the smaller signs are in the solar trailer?) NEW BUSINESS ------------ Tom (AE0TB): received an email from Laurie at the EOC, they need ALL of our gear remove from their facility by end of next week. Mark (N8TWO) will call and arrange for pickup. (it sounds like they are considering anything they don't recognize as ours, including some gear we're fairly sure isn't ours, they want it ALL gone though, probably defunct EOC-band radios?) Stan (W0SJ): Curt's 7300 is STILl at Bill's, and he really needs it back now. Bill (W0GEN) would like to sell his next-to-new 7300, it would make an excellent field day radio,. Motion to purchase for $800. (N8TWO/N0ZYC) Dave KD0DK) will cut Bill a check.
