The NIRAA board met at 6:30 PM on October 9, immediately before the October club meeting. attendees: President: Curt Wilson (NK0T) Vice President: Al Jones (KB0VGG) Secretary: Nathan Fisher (N0ZYC) Treasurer: Dave Kelly (KD0DK) Director 2019: Stan Johnson (W0SJ) Director 2020: Jan Fitkin (KE0IWP) Director 2021: John Humpal (WB0MAR) Current state of testing was discussed. Al: there was no one that showed for the last testing session - we may need to go with requiring RSVP for testing, and not go to the effort of setting up if no one is going to be there to test? Nathan: considering the frequent test sessions as of recently, we may have reached "saturation" for now and need to give it a rest for a bit and wait for demand to return? Presentations were discussed, including ideas for future presentations as well as ideas for (re)establishing a "presentations committee". Jan: the bylaws say "the board prepares the agenda", which is a bit vague but suggests they plan the presentations. Nathan: I think traditionally the president has been the one setting up presentations? (later review of the bylaws: "The President ... shall prepare an agenda for each business meeting ..." so it appears that the president sets the agenda) tentative presentation ideas: December: purpose and execution of grounding January: discuss upcoming Winter Field Day February: Curt (NK0T) on Nano VNA April: possible Rocket Club presentation - John (WB0MAR will look into it) June: discuss upcoming Field Day Other suggestions: electronics history, radio bug-out bag, fox-hunting, alternate power, solar power, spotting electronics scams, mag-loop antennas, broadband blocking filters, weatherproofing Jan inquired about auditing the books. We did an audit last year, how often is it required? Al: we should establish a specific month to conduct a regular audit. (later review of the bylaws: "An audit of books shall be done at the end of the physical year by a committee appointed by the president.") the board will meet again in December, just prior to the December club meeting (6:30 PM) board meeting adjourned at 6:57 PM
